SUMMARY:Intermediate Yoga Asana Class with Hermann Traitteur
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome back Dr. Hermann Traitteur to Manch
ester\, in person.\n\nWe had an enjoyable and educational time in Hermann'
s extremely clear and organised workshops in 2025. We look forward to anot
her weekend in May 2026.\n\nWe have asked Hermann to teach an intermediate
class on Friday 2 - 5pm. This is for all students of yoga who\, in their
normal practice\, would do sirsasana/sarvangasana\, with or without the us
e of a wall. Please note this is for non teaching students as well.\n\nThi
s is a separate event to the Yoga Asana Physiology which can be booked her
 e\n\n\n\n\nFriday ticket: £30 members / £40 non members\n\n\n\n\nThis is
a fantastic opportunity to learn and apply your knowledge to the practica
l elements of Iyengar Yoga practice from Hermann.\n\nAbout Herman:\n\nDr.
Hermann Traitteur grew up in the southern German town of Munich\, where in
the late 1980s\, he first came into contact with Iyengar Yoga. After the
fall of the Berlin Wall\, he moved to Berlin in 1990\, where he studied me
dicine and began his medical career in an orthopaedic clinic. When he was
studying medicine in Berlin\, he also participated in a Teacher Training P
rogram at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco.\n\nFollowing his ce
rtification with the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United State
s (IYNAUS)\, he has furthered his education through annual stays at the Ra
mamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune\, India.\n\nSince t
he end of the 1990s\, he has been a lecturer and assessor within the nasce
nt Iyengar Yoga teacher training programs throughout\n\nGermany.  His dis
sertation\, published in 2012\, is a study of the effects of Iyengar Yoga
on chronic neck pain.\n\nAt the end of the 1990s\, Hermann Traitteur began
to instruct anatomy and physiology within the nascent German teacher trai
ning of Iyengar Yoga. During this time\, he developed handouts for the cou
rses as he found the majority of anatomy textbooks too complicated for the
purposes of Iyengar Yoga and too difficult to understand for those withou
t a background in medicine.\nFrom this “reader” emerged the German boo
k “Yoga Asana Anatomy” first published in 2016. It took three more yea
rs to realize the English translation\, which has gained greater depth and
scope due to useful contributions made by Lois Steinberg and others. Geet
 a S. Iyengar kindly contributed a beautifully written foreword.\n\nBooking
