Firooza Ali – Asana and Pranayama- the route to Dharna
We’re honoured that Firooza is coming back to Manchester. It has been too long since the last visit. We welcome you to join us for a weekend like no other. Please do read all the booking information.
Firooza Ali Razvi has studied intensively with Yogacharya BKS Iyengar since 1977 and Geeta Iyengar and Sri Prashant Iyengar from 1979. She has been teaching workshops and weekly classes at The Light on Yoga Research Trust in Mumbai, India since it was founded in 1980 and has led Yoga Retreats in India since 1985.
Internationally Firooza has established a strong and growing following in the UK since she started teaching here in 2006. In 2011 she accompanied and assisted Geeta Iyengar at the South African Yoga Convention in Johannesburg and in 2013 she held her first workshop in Dubai.
With a curiosity Ignited by yoga, Firooza gained an MA in Philosophy in 1982 and has been teaching philosophy to undergraduates ever since. Her philosophical understanding informs and illuminates her yoga teaching providing deep connection between the philosophy and practice of yoga.
Booking Help:
It is essential you tell us of any illnesses or injuries days in advance of the workshops please fill in the booking form. Booking closes the day before the event if the tickets are not all sold. Please log in properly otherwise the event shows as ‘sold out’
We use PayPal to process transactions, however you can use ANY debit/credit card to pay – choose the “Guest User” option on the payment page and you will be asked for your card details.
MDIY members: If you only see the non-member rates, this means you are not logged in properly; please try logging in again. If this doesn’t work, please email webmaster@mdiiy.org.uk.
Non-members: You need to be logged in to book; please create a (free) basic account to book classes/events.
- If you have not booked online but want to check whether you can come on the day, please call Clare on 07747200411
- Payment is required in advance. You can pay with cash or a card on the door (if there are places available); but you will not be able to attend the class without payment. If you do need to pay on the door, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the published event start time, to minimise disruption during the class. We will close the building 20 mins after the event finishes. We will not tolerate behaviour that our members or volunteers find intimidating or inappropriate, including refusing to leave when asked. We reserve the right to remove membership and/or refuse future entry in the event of such behaviour.
Booking and cancellation policy
MDIY members will take priority over non-members. MDIY will refund the cost of tickets (less a £5 administration charge) if notice of cancellation is received more than 7 days before the event. Cancellations received less than 7 days before the event will not be refunded.
