Join us for a day with Tritha, Sound Yogini, Indian classical & contemporary singer.

Tritha is a student of Iyengar Yoga and an internationally renowned singer with over 17 albums. Two of our MDIY teacher members met Tritha on an Iyengar Yoga course in India and were fortunate to be able to invite her to  Manchester to share her amazing work.  Her teaching is fun and accessible, and relevant for anyone who wants to experience the healing and power of sound – for life, for yoga or for singing.
We encourage you to join us for the day to get the most of the workshops.
The Beej Mantras Tritha teaches are the same as Prashant Iyengar describes in the Chittavijnana of Yogasanas

Morning Workshop: If you can speak you can Sing. 11am – 1pm. £25 members/£30 non members

This workshop is to break the idea that singing is a god-gifted quality. You are born with the basic instrument of your source of sound – Your Voice. If you can speak, you can Sing!! https://www.instagram.com/p/CVplcWvIpH4/

Afternoon Workshop: Mantras & Chants – Right Pronounciation and importance of Sanskrit. 2pm – 4pm. £25 members/£30 non members

The chants in Vedic Mantras in praise of God have been used as a cure for several disharmonies in individuals as well as in environment. A “mantra” is a sacred utterance, a syllable, or group of words in Sanskrit believed by practitioners to have psychological and spiritual powers. Mantra meditation helps to induce an altered state of consciousness.

Everyone is welcome to MDIY.
